Malta Boat Club
Located on historic Boathouse Row in Philadelphia, PA, Malta Boat Club has been dedicated to the sport of rowing since 1860. The club enjoys success at every level of national and world competition and has been represented on the US National Under 23 and Senior teams.
Malta Boat Club has direct access to the most historic rowing in North America, the Schuylkill River. The facilities include boat and equipment storage, social and meeting spaces, and fully heated workout facilities.
Club Facilities
Malta’s boat house offers a view of the Schuylkill River, the historic Art Museum, Boathouse Row and downtown Philadelphia.
Boat Storage and Water Access
Malta houses both private and club equipment with internal boat racks. Club members store blades and boats in one of two bays and they have direct access to the most historic rowing in North America, the Schuylkill River.
Member’s Social/Meeting Space
The 2nd floor is home to three beautiful meeting rooms and is the social center of the club. Members and guests feel at home in a setting that contains 150 years of rowing tradition and memorabilia and is the perfect place for members to gather for meetings and social affairs.
Member Workout Facilities
The third floor contains full erg and weight facilities to carry rowers through the long winters of cross-training when the water of the Schuylkill River is frozen. This heated area has high vaulted ceilings and features locker and shower facilities for members.

Membership
Membership in Malta Boat Club is open to anyone interested in the sport. In addition to social rowing opportunities, the Club hosts active rowers who participate in Schuylkill Navy and Philadelphia rowing events through racing, volunteerism, officiating and coaching. WIth a rich history, Malta prides itself in being an active member of the Schuylkill Navy and the Philadelphia rowing community.
